Beloved wife, mother and grandmother Virginia (Ginny) Worthington Anderson, 90, died suddenly November 28, 2012 in La Mesa, California. Virginia graduated with a BA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and worked as a speech pathologist. Roy and Virginia were married January 3, 1948. Their marriage of 65 years was a testament of their love and devotion to each other. Virginia raised three children and was a devoted grandmother. Always a seeker of knowledge and adventure, Roy and Virginia explored the world. Virginia studied Spanish in college and later became fluent in Italian and French in her 60s. Her command of languages afforded her the ability to travel to many countries always touching the lives of others. A renaissance woman, she is the author of By the Wings of the Morning, the story of her family's year long adventure to the Seychelles in 1963. She was also an accomplished poet and devout Christian yet respected and explored the many religions of the world. She was born in New York, NY to George and Irene Worthington. She is survived by her husband, Roy Anderson. Before relocating to the San Diego area 2 1/2 years ago she was a 40 year resident of Claremont, California. Also surviving her are her children Wayne Anderson of La Mesa, CA, Reid Anderson of Virginia Beach, VA and Carolyn Anderson Styler of La Canada, CA. She leaves four beautiful grandchildren, David Anderson, Kristen Anderson, Lauren (Styler) Vargas and Lindsay Styler, as well as son-in-law David Styler, Denise Grimes, daughter-in-law Jeanine LaFrance, and Rolando Vargas.
A celebration of her life will be held on December 14, 2012, 2pm at Casa De Manana, 849 Coast Blvd. La Jolla, CA . In lieu of flowers please donate to Christ Church, 1127 North San Antonio Avenue Ontario, CA 91762
