October 16, 1919 - October 31, 2013 Wiley F. Barker, M.D., was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico. After attending Harvard for medical training, he served as a medical officer in the Navy. He then became a founding surgical faculty member of UCLA School of Medicine, where he served as Professor and Chief of General Surgery, and as the Director of the Peripheral Vascular Service until his retirement in 1986. Additionally, he served as Chief of Staff of Sepulveda VA Hospital from 1978 to 1983. He is survived by his wife Nancy, three children; Robert, Jonathan, Christina; and six grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Gold Shield Alumnae of UCLA.
