June 12, 1925 - June 27, 2013
The Guest Book is expired.
Yvette Lerner, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother beyond compare, passed away on Thursday, 6-27-13 at the age of 88, quite unexpectedly. She was one of the sweetest, most loving, thoughtful and giving people one would ever want to meet. She was always caring for others and thinking of others before thinking of herself. She was very close to her family. She absolutely adored her grandson, Steven.
Yvette was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1925 and moved out to California at the age of 10. She graduated from UCLA in 1948, having met and married my father, Irving Lerner in 1947, followed by a long career in teaching at the college level until age 70. My parents enjoyed traveling extensively. They were married almost 61 years before Dad passed away at 84 in 2008. We were just observing the five-year anniversary of his passing; in an unfortunate coincidence, both parents passed away on the same day on the Jewish calendar, the 19th of Tammuz. Their marriage was indeed a wonderful thing.
Yvette is survived by her son, Glen, daughter-in-law, Liz, grandson, Steven, nephews, Marvin and Paul Singer, and many dear friends.
We miss you terribly, Grandma Yvette. Now you and Grandpa Irving are together at last.
Services will be at Hillside Memorial Park in Culver City, at 10:00 on Sunday, July 7, 2013.
