Antonio Benitez Pallera
Antonio passed away on Tuesday, 3/18/2014, at the age of 85, at home with his family by his side. He was born on 2/14/1929 in Silang Cavite, Philippines to his parents, Eugenio and Juliana Pallera and he was the youngest of 6 children.
He married Julita Legaspi in Silang Cavite, Philippines on 09/29/1957 and they had 3 children. He served in the Navy for 20 years and was a veteran of Vietnam War earning the rank of Petty Officer 1. After his discharge from the Navy, Antonio continued to work on the military base as a shore patrolman for another 20 years. He was a current resident of Long Beach for 40 years. Antonio was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church in Long Beach. He enjoyed spending time with his family, church community and playing Mahjong.
Antonio will be remembered by his loving wife and their children: Leilani (George) Sullivan, Lolette (Frank) Stevi and Michael (Renee) Pallera. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Christina, David, Matthew, Kristen, Ryan, and Cain. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother.
A visitation will be held on both Wednesday, 3/26/2014 and Thursday, 3/27/2014 from 4-8p.m. with a vigil at 6:30pm on both nights at All Souls Mortuary: 4400 Cherry Ave. Long Beach, CA 90807. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:00a.m., on Friday, 3/28/2014 at St. Lucy Catholic Church: 2344 Cota Ave. Long Beach CA 90810. Interment will follow at All Souls Catholic Cemetery.
