David Leroy Sievers
David Leroy Sievers passed away from lung cancer on June 1, 2014 in The Woodlands, TX and was a stoic one year survivor. He was an organ donor and will be helping two people with corneal transplants through the Baylor College of Medicine. He was born August 28, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri and lived most of his life in Long Beach, California.
He was survived by his loving wife and partner of 19 years, Victoria Rueda Sievers; daughters, Dara Wheeler (Jordan Wheeler) and Danielle Longe (Christopher Longe); granddaughter, Zoë Wheeler; sisters, Donna Sievers (Lee Apel) and Sandi Sievers; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Dave was a veteran of the Vietnam War and traveled extensively around the world. He first started his teaching career in American Samoa and spent the rest of his career at Long Beach Woodrow Wilson High school teaching Psychology and other social sciences. He was an avid sports fan after participating in athletics as a student in high school at Wilson and in college.
Memorial Services will be at 2 pm, September 20, 2014 at Wilson High School Auditorium. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the David L.
