He is survived by many nieces and nephews and loving friends. Billy was born in New York City in 1916. He spent many years in Alabama as a child and later joined the Army, where he served in WWII stationed in Guam. After the war, he settled down in Long Beach where he worked as a General Contractor. He built many buildings that still stand in Long Beach, including his own home. He loved to tinker in his garage and build anything he could from scratch, he also enjoyed riding his bike to local parks. He called himself the Coca Cola Kid because of his undying love for Coca Cola, which he drank every day of his long life. He will be forever missed by those who loved and cared for him. Calling hours will be Wednesday February 6th, from 4 to 6 pm at Forest Lawn Long Beach. A private graveside ceremony will be held before the burying of his ashes on what would have been his 97th birthday, Valentine's Day, February 14th, 2013.
