Barbara E. MacCourtney MILWAUKEE, WI Barbara E. (nee Hennessy) MacCourtney, 81, passed away November 2, 2012, at St Anne's Salvatorian Campus in Milwaukee, Wis. Barbara was born on May 24, 1931, in Altoona. She was the youngest daughter of Bertha Hennessy. She graduated from Altoona Catholic High School in Altoona in June 1949. She was married to Leo MacCourtney on December 27, 1954, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Altoona. She attended Penn State University and graduated with a BS in education. One of Barbara's great loves was teaching. She taught in Catholic schools in Pennsylvania and West Virginia and served as principal of St Joseph Catholic School in Huntington West Virginia. Her greatest love was her husband, Leo, and her family. She especially treasured her 12 grandchildren. They were blessed by her good counsel through the years and she celebrated each milestone in their lives. Barbara is survived by her husband Leo; her son Leo Jr. (Barbara); daughter Molly (Tom) Duffey; son Kane (Carol); and son Chris (Linda). She is survived by her grandchildren Colin, Conor, Kyle and Caitlin MacCourtney; Ryan, Matthew and Keenan Duffey; Kelsey and Christian MacCourtney; as well as Erin, Sarah and Daniel MacCourtney. A private memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 17, 2012, at St Anne's Salvatorian Campus at 2 p.m. with Fr. Douglas Leonhardt. Interment will be at Woodmere Cemetery in Huntington, W.Va. Becker Ritter Funeral Home serving the family, 262.782.5330.
