Betsey A. Lawrence STOUCHBURG Betsey Ann Lawrence, 59, died Saturday, December 1, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. She was born in Lebanon, on November 29, 1953 to the late Rev. Rohland and Mary Lawrence, and after their passing, she became the adopted daughter of Deborah L. Bass, with whom she resided, and the late William Kieran "Bill" Monaghan. After being employed by Ephrata Area Rehabilitation Services for two years, she was promoted to a position at Quest, Inc. in Lebanon where she continued to work for 18 years. A member of Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Church, Myerstown, Betsey was loved by all including her many friends in the community, at church, and coworkers. She was an avid dancer and won many gold medals in the Special Olympics in which she competed for nearly 50 years in race walking, running, and track and field events. In addition to her mother, Deborah, she is survived by a brother, David, husband of Annie Lawrence of Arroyo Grande, Calif; sister-in-law, Sandy Lawrence of Augusta, Ga.; and seven nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Lawrence. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Church, Myerstown, preceded by a Recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. at the church. A luncheon will follow Mass in the church's Madonna Hall. There will be no viewing or visitation. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the "New Organ Fund" of Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Church, 188 W. McKinley Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067.
