Charles E. Forinash LEBANON Charles Ellis Forinash, 83, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014, in the Good Samaritan Hospital. Charles was the husband of the late Lois Mae Schaeffer who passed away January 3rd, 2008. He was born in Buckhannon, W.Va., a son of the late Newton Dow and Hallie E. Holden Forinash. Mr. Forinash served in Law Enforcement for over 50 years, serving as the Chief of Police for Cornwall until 1960, and later served as a Police Officer with Lebanon City Police Dept. where he retired in 1976. He was also a Deputy Sheriff in Lebanon from 1976-1996, and had worked at other various jobs including Hershey Motor Lodge, Hershey Park, COLT and Frederick Chevrolet. He served his country in the U.S. Army, in Japan, Korea and France, earning the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Army of Occupation Medal Japan. He was a member of the Mt. Olivet Lodge #704 F&A.M., 32nd degree mason in Scottish Rite Consistory, Harrisburg; Tall Cedars of Lebanon Quittapahilla Forest #25, Weidle Royal Arch Chapter #197, Quittie Woods Inc., F.O.P. Lodge #42, V.F.W Post #23 and a former member of Cornwall United Methodist Church. Surviving are his daughter: Lisa E. Forinash; grandson, Steven Forinash; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Forinash all of Lebanon; brother, Carlen W., husband of Joanne Forinash, San Antonio, TX; several nieces and nephews. Charles was predeceased by a son: Craig M. Forinash who passed away October 8th, 2006. Funeral services will be Thursday 10 a.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042, where a viewing will begin at 9 a.m. with Rev. James M. Beckwith, pastor of Annville Church of the Brethren officiating. Masonic services will begin on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville following the service at 11:30 a.m.with full Military Honors and F.O.P services. Contributions may be made in Charles memory to the Lebanon City Police Dept. K-9 Fund, 400 South 8th Street, Lebanon, PA 17042.
