Earl K. Pyles, Sr. ANNVILLE Earl K. Pyles, Sr., 89, formerly of Lebanon, died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of the late Marcella (Budwash) Pyles who died in 2000, and the late Helen (Houser) Pyles who died in 1981. Born in Cleona on April 18, 1924, he was the son of the late Charles and Christine (Hilbert) Pyles. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and was employed as a warehouse manager at Foodland Grocery Store, Lebanon, until his retirement. An active member of St. Mark's UCC, Lebanon, he served as sexton for many years, and volunteered at Pine Acres Retreat, Lebanon. He is survived by daughters, Carol wife of Larry Houser of Lebanon, Donna wife of Andy Brown of Kentucky; a son, Earl K. Pyles, Jr. of Lebanon; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. from St. Mark's UCC, 426 N. 8th St., Lebanon, preceded by a viewing beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's UCC Mission Fund. Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown, has been entrusted with the arrangements. www.grosefuneralhome.com
