Frances T. Hummel CARLISLE Frances Tracey Hummel, 93, formerly of Marysville, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013, in The Thornwald Home, Carlsle. Frances was born in West Fairview, on May 28, 1920, the daughter of the late Edith Elizabeth (Beers) and Frank Tracey Dick. She was a member of The First Lutheran Church of Carlisle and a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, Marysville. Frances was a former Girl Scout Leader and Troop Organizer in Marysville for 35 years; Past President of the fomer Marysville Civic Club for five years; life member of VFW #882 Ladies Auxiliary; member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Steadfast Chapter #479, Camp Hill; Railroad Retirees Club of PA; Singles of Gretna Springs; AARP; and a volunteer for the American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, and the Marysville Library. Surviving are a daughter, Susan C. Kline of Carlisle; a son, Gary T. Hummel of Harrisburg; four granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Pace, and a brother, Bill Dick. Services are private at the convenience of family in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill. Arrangements are entrusted to the Michael J. Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marysville-Rye Library, 198 Overcrest St., Marysville, PA 17053.
