Gary L. Brown PALMYRA Gary L. Brown, 64, passed awaypeacefully in his home on Thursday March 27, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Deborah Louise (Sangree) Davis Brown. He was born Wednesday, November 16, 1949, in Hershey. Gary recently celebrated his 20th anniversary of owning and operating Gary's Bar in Palmyra. He served in the Army during Vietnam, where he lost his right eye in service to our country. He was offered the Purple Heart for his courage. He enjoyed playing softball and throwing darts. Gary would often travel to Atlantic City where he could be found playing the poker machine or three card poker. He also enjoyed driving around in his little green Toyota Spyder with Roscoe by his side. Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and son. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Janet (Garrison) Jones, and his stepfather Edward Jones; his father, Harry Brown and wife, Jackie; two sons, Jeremy Davis and Eric Brown; four grandchildren, Brittny Davis and Cayleigh, Cordelya, and Tyler Meade; a paternal grandmother, Stella Brown; two siblings, Glen Brown and wife, Barbara, and Mary Heister and husband, Richard; two stepsisters, Jennifer Jones and husband, Mark, and Lori Jones; his Gary's Bar family, Barbara Bell and Kerry Vandett; his beloved dog, Roscoe; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited for viewing on Tuesday, April 1, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Grantville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital, 90 Hope Drive A120, P.O. Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033.
