Joseph M. Fabian VIRGINIA BEACH, VA Joseph Michael Fabian, 79, of Virginia Beach, VA., passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 9 at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, from congestive heart failure. Joe is survived by his wife of 50 years, Veronica; and his four children: Joseph John Fabian of Boothwyn, PA; Maryann Fabian of Atlanta, GA; Theresa Brunner and her husband Michael of Avondale, PA; and Anne Fabian of Bear, DE; two grandchildren; his sister, Margaret Aciukewicz of Mocanaqua, PA; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend to all. Joe spent his professional career taking care of our nation's wounded warriors. His honorable military service in the U.S. Army included tours at Fort Sam Houston, TX; Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center, Denver, CO; 121st Evac Hospital, Korea; Valley Forge Army Hospital, PA; Ft. Tripler Army Hospital, HI; Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Ft. Campbell, KY; Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany, outposts in the Middle East; and Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C., before retiring at the rank of Major in 1977. He then spent 20 years as a psychiatric nurse for the Veterans Administration in Erie, PA; Long Beach, CA; and Lebanon, PA before retiring to Virginia Beach, VA in 1999. He was a dedicated parishioner of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Virginia Beach, as well as a member of the Slovak Catholic Union and The Military Officers Association.
