Russel L. Summy LAYTON, UT Russel Leroy Summy, 80, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014, due to complications from COPD. He was born in Campbelltown and moved his family to Layton, Utah, in 1967. Russ was a Korean War veteran (USN), civil servant, volunteer fireman, and a member of the Layton Jaycees and Ogden Air Force Association. He retired from Hill AFB with 43 years of Civil Service. Russel raised two families and is survived by three sons, Steven (Luetta), Shawn (Cindy), and Nathan (Joshua); and five daughters, Debra (Jay), Kimberly (Linden), Pamela (John), Suzanne, and D'Lacie. Russ had 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John C. and Martha M. Summy; and two sisters, Marlene and Doris. He is survived by his siblings, John W. Summy, Helen Scott, JoAnn Muzikar, Janet Killian, Gail Uctum, Frances Greiner, James Summy, George Summy, Gary Summy, and Peggy Achey. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 3 p.m. at the Myers Mortuary of Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., Lyton, Utah. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Ogden.
