Charles Francis Conley, Jr. "Chuck", 77, of Napa, CA, died May 25, 2014. Chuck was born on January 10, 1937, in Cleveland, OH, to Charles Francis and Mary Edythe (Harding) Conley. Chuck graduated from St. Edward High School in Lakewood, OH; received a BA from the University of South Carolina; an MS from Arizona State University; and a Degree of Advanced Graduate Studies from Michigan State University. Chuck served in the United States Navy from 1959-1962, reaching the rank of Lieutenant. In 1997, Chuck retired as Director of Michigan's Family Independence Agency's Survey and Analysis Division's Offices of Quality Control.
Chuck is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Judy Ann Conley, his 8 children: Carol; Thomas; Robert; Kathleen Bradley; Elizabeth; Charles; David and William; his sister, Marianne Phelan, and brothers, Michael and Patrick; as well as fourteen grandchildren. Chuck and Judy were longtime members of St. Gerard Catholic Church in Lansing, MI. Chuck was elected as Lansing (MI) Township Trustee in 1998 and was devoted to many charitable causes throughout his life.
Funeral services will be conducted at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 960 Caymus St. Napa, CA 94559, at 10 a.m. on June 20, 2014. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Food for the Poor (foodforthepoor.org), P.O. Box 979005, Coconut Creek, FL 33097-9005.
