Charles Stuart Thrush Obituary
Dr. Stuart Thrush, DVM Eagle Dr. Stuart Thrush, DVM, passed away December 30, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. He was born June 21, 1934 in Isabelle County, Michigan to the late Charles F. and Dora H. (Bacon) Thrush. He graduated from Shepherd High School class of 1952. Stuart attended Central Michigan University for two years and then transferred to Michigan State University in 1954. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Education and continued into veterinary medicine. He married his late wife Kay Whitmore in 1955 and they had three sons, John, Mark and Greg. Stuart graduated from MSU in 1961 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and became an associate at the Baker Animal Hospital in Midland for one year. He then moved his family to Lansing and opened the Waverly Animal Hospital in February of 1963 and had an enjoyable career in veterinary medicine. He is survived by two sons, Mark and Greg; grandchildren, Christopher, Kevin, Kaitlyn, Zachary, Courtney and Stephanie; sister, Carol Whitney. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Kay; son, John, three brothers and one sister. The family will receive friends Friday, January 10, 2014, 11a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12p.m. at the Holihan-Atkin Funeral Home, Grand Ledge. A private family inurnment will take place at the Wacousta Cemetery, Watertown Twp., Clinton Co., Michigan at a later time.
