Edwin R. Fraas Grand Ledge Passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the age of 93. He was born in St. Louis, MO on May 2, 1919 to the late Edward and Dorothy (Abrams) Fraas. Edwin was raised in Columbus, OH where he was active in the Boy Scouts and became a lifelong Ohio State fan. He was raised during the Great Depression and attended Bliss College in Columbus on scholarship and earned an Accounting Diploma because they told him there were jobs in accounting. In 1941 he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served until his Honorable Discharge in 1945. During World War II he served in Iran as a Technical Sergeant and played fast-pitch softball as an outfielder/leadoff hitter, on a team "that almost never lost." Upon discharge he passed the C.P.A. exam and practiced in California, Ohio, and then Michigan where he resided for the past 57 years. He owned and operated Edwin R. Fraas C.P.A. and was a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. He is preceded in death by his parents. Surviving Edwin are his wife of almost 64 years Jeanne (McMullen) Fraas; 2 sons: Thomas (Tricia) and Gary (Jan); 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren; a sister Doris (John) Estrada; a sister-in-law Carolyn (McMullen) Lawson; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held May 25, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. David's Episcopal Church, 1519 Elmwood Rd., Lansing, MI, with The Rev. David Pike officiating.
