Henry Adamski Harrison Passed away on February 9, 2014 at Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant, age 88. Henry was born in Standish on October 3, 1925 in a two room log house on a farm, the son of Joseph and Mary (Setlak) Adamski. Henry graduated from Standish High School in 1943. He proudly served in the Pacific Area during WWII in the United States Army. Henry was united in marriage to the former Gloria C. Byrkit on September 16, 1948 in Peoria, Illinois. He then went on to get his Master's Degree from Michigan State University. Henry started his working career at Buick and Ford Motor. He then went on to teach Voc Agr for a year at Morrice High School, Michigan. Then went on to teach Metal Shop and General Science at Pattengill Jr. High and Science at L.C.C. in Lansing Michigan for over 30 years prior to his retirement in 1981. Henry was a member of the American Legion Post 404, VFW Post 1075, Eagles Club, Elks, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 2235, Harrison Sportsmen Club, NRA, NEA and Capital City Rifle and Pistol. Henry enjoyed fishing, hunting and making his wine. He was also an avid reader. He will be dearly missed. Henry is survived by his loving wife of 65 years; Gloria, children; Janet Dianne Adamski of Harrison and Joseph Dwight (Carey) Adamski of Okemos, grandson; Alexander (Zander) Adamski. Henry was preceded in death by parents; 5 brothers and 3 sisters. In keeping with Henry's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service is being planned in the spring.
