James Joe Francka Eaton Rapids Passed away May 14, 2012 at the age of 95. He was born in Brighton, MO June 7, 1916 the son of Matt and Mary (Kroutil) Francka. James served in the Army during WWII as a Sergeant. In 1948 he married the love of his life, Marie. He worked at Oldsmobile and retired in 1979 after 30 years of service. James was a talented carpenter. He loved to farm, collect die cast tractors, work on crossword puzzles and smoke his corn cob pipe. James is survived by his wife of 64 years, Irland Marie (McDaniel) Francka of Eaton Rapids; many nieces and nephews; sisters, Marie Mullican of Springfield, MO, Blanche Kincaid of Portland, MI, Helen Hart of Oceanside, CA; sister-in-law, Maxine Crafton of Eaton Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charlie Novak. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday May 18, 2012 at St. Mary's Church, 807 St. Mary Blvd. Charlotte, MI with Fr. Francis officiating. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Building Fund.
