Jerome David Lareau Eaton Rapids Passed away on May 11, 2013 at the age of 85. Jerome was born in 1927 to Theodore and Edith Lareau in Lansing, MI. He graduated from Resurrection High School in 1944. After high school he joined the US Navy and proudly served his country in WWII. Jerome graduated from Michigan State University in 1950 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He thoroughly enjoyed his 31 years of employment at Ford Motor Company in a variety of increasingly-responsible managerial positions. Upon his retirement in 1984 he purchased an 80-acre farm in the Eaton Rapids area that he worked until the age of 81, when he claimed the rocks were getting heavier. Jerry loved traveling with his wife Joyce, and especially enjoyed river cruises throughout Europe, parts of Asia, and Africa. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Theodore Lareau and sister, Ruth Kauffold. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Joyce; daughters, Nanette (Terrence) Conant and Sharon Lareau; sons, Gregory Lareau, Mark Lareau, and Steven Lareau; grandchildren, Bryan Lareau, Connor Lareau, Aimee (Robin) Richter; great granddaughter, Rebecca Richter; sister, Jeanne Binder; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Eaton Rapids with Fr. Bennett Constantine as celebrant. There will be a private family committal at Rosehill Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Vincent DePaul in memory of Jerome Lareau.
