Joan Jean McNamara Lansing Age 80 died Saturday, October 27, 2012 surrounded by her family. Joan was born December 2, 1931 to John and Lydia (Bouts) Millhisler. Joan was an adoring wife of nearly 60 years, mother of 59 years and very much in love with her husband, Tom and family. She was giving, generous, thoughtful,and always put her family first. Joan loved to try new things, travel, and spend winters in Florida. Her best memories are from family gatherings, time with life-long friends, and spending summers with her family at the lake. That was her favorite place to be. Her family brightened her life which showed through her smile and never-ending, unconditional love. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas, a brother Virgil Millhisler, and her parents. She is survived by her 6 children: Teri (Rick) Geiersbach, Kevin (Karen) McNamara, Marci ( Doug) Wardell, Mick (Linda) McNamara, Patrick McNamara, and Paula (Thomas) Bondarenko, a sister Elaine Luthy, 17 grandchildren, a great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. John Byers as Celebrant. Inurnment to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery's Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at Palmer Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel, 520 E. Mt. Hope Ave. on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:30p.m. Those desiring, may make donations to
