Joseph C. Riker, age 86, born August 16, 1927, passed away June 24, 2014.  Joseph was retired from General Motors, Lansing Metal Center; former owner of Button & Daisy Antique Shop, and he was proud to show off his antique miniature oil lamp collection.  He was also a furniture builder and woodworker; enjoyed traveling all 48 continental states; collected and repaired antique guns, and was a former member of the Capital Area Sportsman League.

Joseph is survived by his sons, John Elder and James (DeEllen) Elder, five grandchildren: John, Chris, Amber, Corey and Luke, 10 great grandchildren; also three sisters:  Sally (Sam Keine) Austin, Marje (Bill) Strickler, Rose (Martin) Leyrer, and daughter-in-law Betty Elder.  He was predeceased by his wife Mary, whom he was devoted to for 45 years, two brothers, Bob and Ed Riker, and sister Arlene McCabe.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at the Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge, with Pastor Brian McLaughlin of the Grand Ledge Baptist Church officiating.  Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Traverse City, MI.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the McLaren Hospice or Salvation Army in memory of Joseph Riker.  Online condolences may be shared at www.petersandmurrayfuneralhome.com.
