Judith Diane Boice Judy was born on November 13, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio to Olin and Winifred (Arnold) Boice. Judy passed away peacefully at her home on May 6, 2013. She was a graduate of Bedford High School Class of 1960. She served in the United States Navy until March 1964. She attended Michigan State University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree on June 11, 1976. On August 28th, 1991, she received the Commander's Award for Public Service from the Department of the Army. After many years of dedicated service in microbiology, she retired from the State of Michigan and Bioport. Judy resided in Lansing, Michigan for the remainder of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents (Olin and Winifred Boice), sister (Joanne Rogge), and nieces (Jackie Poe and Tami Brandt). Judy is survived by her brother (James Boice) and her loving extended family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Judy was an avid golfer, gardener, and artist. She enjoyed traveling and her meals with the Friday lunch bunch. Judy is best described in her own words as "a tough old broad and TRUE SPARTAN." A memorial service will be held at Union Missionary Baptist Church located at 500 S. Martin Luther King Blvd., Lansing, MI 48910 on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. with a bereavement luncheon to follow. For those wishing to make a donation in her honor, please consider the
