Kim Anita Burton-McFadden April 3, 1964 - February 3, 2013 One of God's angels, Kim Anita Burton-McFadden, was called home on February 3, 2013. Kim was born on April 3, 1964, in Lansing, Michigan. Kim graduated from J. W. Sexton High School in 1982. After graduation, she studied at Michigan State University for three years and later married Mr. Lyle McFadden in 1989. In 1991, twin boys were born, Marcel and Marshon McFadden. Kim was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. She was the owner of Ms. Broadway Shoes, she also founded the Twin Oaks Senior Bible Study Group with Rev. Climmie Hughes, Pastor of the Shiloah Baptist Church. For the past three years, Kim was a volunteer for the Michigan National Guard Youth Program. In addition to Ms. Broadway Shoes, Kim has worked for G. C. Services and two family-owned businesses, Guard d Enfant and the Classy Image Beauty Salon. Kim leaves to cherish her memory: her sons, Marcel and Marshon; parents, Sim and Minnie Coats Burton; sisters, Sharon Cooney (Danny), Annette Ashe (Lee), and Pam (Semo)Childress, who grew up as a sister, of Dallas, Texas; and brothers, Mark and Michael Burton of Lansing. Friends may visit Mrs. McFadden Friday, February 8, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m., at the Riley Funeral Home. The family hour is at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Friendship Baptist Church, 2912 Pleasant Grove Road, Lansing, MI. The funeral will begin at 12:00 p.m., Pastor David Ford officiating. Services entrusted to Riley Funeral Home.
