Leon Earl Kussmaul, 74, of Lehigh Acres, formerly of Potterville, passed away on August 28, 2014 in Lehigh Acres, FL.
He was born on February 24, 1940 to Earl Henry and Faye Ellyn (Cutler) Kussmaul in Lansing, MI. He attended Sexton High School, graduating in 1959. On February 5, 2000 he married Lynda Jean Vickery.
Leon worked as a painter and welder for General Motors, and as a Police Officer for the City of Potterville.
Leon was a member of DAV, American Legion, and the Potterville Lions Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, and coaching baseball and football.
Leon is survived by his wife Lynda Jean Vickery Kussmaul, 9 children, 22 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and ex-wife Fran Kussmaul Streets and man's best friend Rex. He is preceded in death by his mother Faye Ellyn Kussmaul, his father Earl Henry Kussmaul and daughter Dawn Lynn Vickery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday September 3, 2014 at Pray Funeral Home, Inc., Charlotte, Michigan from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 4th, at the Pray Funeral Home, with Pastor Lynn Stull-Lipps, officiating at 11am. Interment will follow in Dewitt Cemetery.
