Lloyd Archer Wolever Lloyd Archer Wolever, 82, died on January 15, 2014, in Lansing with his loving family by his side. Lloyd was born September 27, 1931 in Battle Creek, MI, the son of George and Florice (Brooks) Wolever. He attended Vermontville High School, graduating in 1950. He went to work for Fisher Body in 1950, joined the UAW, worked 40 years, most of those in skilled trades as a tinsmith, and retired at the age of 58. On June 24, 1951, Lloyd married the love of his life, Elsie Rounds, and together they raised 1 son and 2 daughters. Lloyd joined the Army National Guard in 1951 and was later called to active duty in 1953 to serve in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Nashville VFW Post 8260, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 3000 in Hastings, the Eagles Aries 3552 of Charlotte and the American Legion Post 222 of Vermontville. He and Elsie enjoyed being members of the Vermontville Bible Church. Lloyd loved Karaoke, dancing and old cars. He was a member of the Mid Michigan Model A Club and the Capital City Old Car Club. He also served his community on the Vermontville Village Council and the Vermontville Fire Department. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Elsie; son Ronald (Margaret) Felder of Nashville, MI; 2 daughters - Dawn (Steve) Conklin and Nancy (Steve) Wolever, both of Vermontville, MI; brother, Sherman (Wanetta) Wolever of Charlotte; 3 sisters - Zelpha Spidel of Gordo, AL, Lora Babcock of Clayton, AL, and Myrna (Jerry) Smith of Bellevue; sisters-in-law, Margaret Graham of Charlotte, Joanne (Ron) May of Marshall, MI, and Ardean (Archie) Gonser of Vermontville, MI; brother-in-law, James Bowen of Bellevue, MI; 6 grandchildren - Elizabeth Conklin, Curtis Felder, Laci Jo Wolever, Matthew Conklin, Jennifer Felder, Andrew (Kelly) Belen; and 4 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, MI. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 21 at 3:00 pm at the Vermontville Bible Church with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Vermontville. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Maple Valley Education Scholarship Foundation, Eaton Community Palliative Care, the , or the Vermontville Fire Department.
