Dr. Norman R. Stewart East Lansing Went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 29, 2013. His loving children and friends were by his side. Norm is now in Heaven with his beloved wife, Gwyn. Norm received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and was a distinguished professor of Counseling and Educational Psychology at Michigan State University for over 40 years. He loved his time at Michigan State University and was blessed to have worked with so many wonderful people. His most precious friends were people he worked with at Michigan State and from his church. Norm was born and raised in Oneonta, New York. He told many joyous stories of his love for Oneonta and his childhood growing up there. Norm's most special times were spent teaching overseas and the adventures he had traveling with his wife and two children, Holly and Rick. They visited Iran, Russia, Egypt, Greece, Japan, Norway, England, Scotland and many more. Norm loved people and loved talking with them. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed laughing with his friends as well as supporting them during the tough times of life. Norm was preceded in death by his father Curtis, mother Mildred, brother Les and his loving wife Gwyn, who passed away in 2010. Norm and Gwyn were married for 53 ½ years. Norm is survived by his loving son Richard Stewart of Denver, CO, his loving daughter, Holly Lang of Waukesha, WI, his beautiful grandchildren Sarah and Emily Grazal and a great-grandchild Stanley of Waukesha, WI.
