Onalee M. Lockwood Onalee M. Lockwood passed away early Monday morning, October 14, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Elwyn E. Lockwood, her brother Edward Smith and her parents, Orra and Florence Smith. She is survived by her six children, Karla (Jeff) Beason, Sharon (Rick) Meador, Renee Lockwood, Dennis (Michelle) Lockwood, Doreen (Ken) Bracken and Gregory (Sandy) Lockwood; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Onalee was born in Pontiac, Michigan on April 22, 1925. She lived in the Williamston and Lansing area where she worked while her husband attended Michigan State University on the GI Bill. When he graduated they had 3 children and he accepted a position in California. They had 3 more children in California. Onalee was a selfless mother, always giving to her family and providing them with a loving home. Her home was the gathering place on the block for all the children to play. Onalee and Elwyn were blessed with a wonderful life of travel within the USA in later years. They made friends all over the country, mostly in the Southwestern United States. When their health began to fail them and they moved to Tennessee to live with their oldest daughter, they brought much joy and many blessings along with them. Onalee's witty sense of humor never left her. She could always bring a smile to your face and a chuckle from deep inside you. She will be missed greatly by family, friends, church members of The Living Word Home Church, and all who knew her. But we all know she is now with our Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven. Visitation will be at Highland Memorial Funeral Home, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville TN 37919. Tuesday, October, 22, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm; followed by the Funeral Service by, Rev. David Bumgardner. Burial Service will be held Wednesday at 11:30 am, at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. Gov. John Sevier Highway 168, Knoxville, TN 37920
