Penny Ann Denczek Haslett Surrounded by family, our sweet Penny passed away peacefully on January 1, 2013. Penny was born September 11, 1967 in Lansing, Michigan the daughter of Dennis and Mary Ann (Wilberding) Maki. A 1985 graduate of Williamston High School, Penny continued her education and earned degrees from Lansing Community College and Northwood University. She was employed by Lansing Community College before moving on to a position at Michigan State University. Penny married the love of her life, Robert Denczek on June 17, 1989. She was preceded in death by her uncle, Mark Wilberding. Penny is survived by her loving husband, Robert; son, Tyler; daughter, Kaitlyn; parents, Dennis and Mary Ann Maki; brothers, Mark (Jillian) and Mike Maki; mother-in-law, Betty McCastle. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Celebration of the Funeral Mass will take place, Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 157 High Street, Williamston, MI with Rev. Fr. Raymond Moeggenberg as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Lansing, MI. The family will receive relatives and friends, Friday, January 4, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel, 520 E. Mt. Hope Ave., Lansing, MI where a rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the funeral.
