Ralph V. Murray Eaton Rapids Ralph Vernon Murray, 76, is now baling hay for God. He passed away at home on December 17, 2013 with his family by his side. He was born May 19, 1937 in Lansing, MI, son of Claude and Dorothy (Robbins) Murray Sr. He retired after 37 years of service with General Motors and was a lifelong area farmer. He enjoyed attending auctions; the elevator, helping others, and loved his John Deere Tractors. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Kathleen and their children: Patricia (John) Campbell of Leslie, Vernon of Fenton, Steve (Donna) of Eaton Rapids, Bill of Holt, Scott (Amy) of Dimondale, Michael (Kimberly) of Eaton Rapids; 9 grandchildren: Heather Berry, Brandon Berry, Vernon Murray Jr., Craig Murray, Valery Halsey, Sarah Hamilton, Megan Murray, Alyssa Edelen, and Amanda Murray; 6 great grandchildren; 3 brothers: Raymond (Janet), Thomas (Phyllis), Claude Jr.; 2 brothers-in-law Ralph Lyon and Howard (Marolyn) Lyon; 6 sisters-in-law: Norma Jean Myers, Esther McKeever, Nancy (Howard) Caffee, Gwen Lange, Priscilla Winter, and Betty (Dave) Curtis; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 23, 2013 - 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel First Lutheran Church, 1001 N. Capitol Ave., Lansing, MI, with Pastor Paul Lindloff officiating. Interment will follow at Dimondale Cemetery, Windsor Twp., Eaton County. Visitations will be held Saturday from 5-8 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Peters & Murray Funeral Home, 301 E. Jefferson St., Grand Ledge, MI. For those desiring, memorial donations may be made to the McLaren Hospice or the Online condolences may be shared at www.petersandmurrayfuneralhome.com.




Services will be held at noon Monday at Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge. The location had to be changed due to a power outage.
