Thomas Richard Bartshe Lansing Age 92, Thomas Richard Bartshe, passed away December 27, 2012. Mr. Bartshe was born in Alma, MI May 17, 1920 and proudly served the United States in The Army Air Corp during World War II. He then had a long and distinguished career as a key technician for the State of Michigan Department of Public Health Blood Derivatives Section where he was actively involved in the development of many new products. He will be remembered as meticulous, precise, technically competent and hard working with a keen wit and good sense of humor. Tom was also involved in serving his Lord through his church. Mr. Bartshe was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, in 1970; and his parents, George and Jessie (Foster) Bartshe. Surviving to cherish his memory are his daughter, Gay M. Reinert; sons, Philip (Ginny) Bartshe and Steve (Robin) Bartshe; 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Patch; and companion, Donna Brown. A Funeral Service will be held for Mr. Bartshe at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 31 at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes DeWitt Chapel, 205 E. Washington in DeWitt with Rev. Gene A. Harris officiating. Family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, December 30 and one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
