Wellesley C. Goodwin "Wes" East Lansing Age 86 passed away November 27, 2013. He was born April 28, 1927 in Warren, Minnesota the son of Herbert and Lucille (White) Goodwin. Wes served our country in the Navy during WWII. He received his Bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University and his Master's degree from Western Illinois University. He worked as a Principal and asst. superintendent in Woodstock, Illinois, superintendent in San Dieguito, CA, principal in Alhambra, AZ and finally retiring as principal in Maryville High School in AZ in 1989. He loved to travel with his wife in their motorhome, enjoyed reading and volunteering for several organizations. He also loved to run and participated in Senior Olympics events. Wes was married to Marge Whistler on June 18, 1950 and they had 4 children: Patricia McLaughlin of Phoenix, AZ, Andrew (Darla) Goodwin of Avondale, AZ, Kathie (Robert) Yates and Teresa (Ed) Lampkey all of Surprise, AZ, 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He married Mary Dolores Beck Moss on January 11, 2004 and he became step-father to: Carol J. Moss of CA, Todd (Lynn) Moss of GA, Sue Hanley of FL; 5 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren. Wes is also survived by his sister-in-law, Roberta Goodwin. His parents, a step-daughter, Kalene Ostendorf, a brother, Quentin Goodwin and a nephew, Scott Goodwin precede Wes in death. Wes' family will celebrate his life with a memorial service at a later date.
