He served his country in the United States Army in World War II and his community as a member of the Sunfield Fire Department for 34 years. He retired from Fisher Body in 1983, where he worked for 35 years. He enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino, catching a mess of bluegills, spending time with the family, watching his grandchildren's events and taking a few coins off relatives and friends playing any kind of card games. William was an avid Michigan fan and watched as many Tiger games he could. You could always get in a conversation with William and he would tell you there were kids from Sunfield with better fundamentals than the Tigers.

Surviving are his 4 sons, Bill (Cindy), Lee (Julia), Jeff (Cheryl) and Stacey (Sue) Bosworth, his "5th" son, Art (Loralee) Phenis and special friend, Pete Weller; grandchildren: Renee Strimback, Darren (Stephanie) Bosworth, Jamie (Ben) White, Briana, Jade, Jennifer, Anna and Daniel Bosworth; 2 GREAT grandchildren: Avery Strimback and Landen White; In-laws Jerry and Bina Schray and William and Shirley Estep and many special nieces and nephews.
