William Marion "Bill" Lepczyk Obituary
William "Bill" Marion Lepczyk East Lansing Born May 30, 1918 in Bay City, Michigan to Joseph and Bessie Lepczyk, passed away September 19, 2013 at the age of 95. Bill was a graduate of Central High School in Bay City and earned his Bachelor's degree from Michigan State University. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater and was a Bronze Star Recipient. He was the Director of Survey and Analysis for the State of Michigan, Department of Highway. Bill, a man of deep faith, was a founding member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish. He was an avid Pisanka egg artist and Master Gardener. Bill is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy; daughters, Anne (Robert) Pentland and Marybeth Lepczyk; sons, James (Michelene) and Timothy (Susan) Lepczyk; grandchildren, Matthew, Kathryn, Emily and James Pentland, Timothy (Ashley), Brad, Laura, Mark and Andrew Lepczyk and Will, Martha and Caroline Lepczyk; and great grandchildren, Matthew and William Pentland. He is preceded in death by his son, William. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 24, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Rd., East Lansing with the Rev. Anthony Strouse and Rev. Jake Foglio, officiating. The Rite of Committal will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Augustine Cemetery, 6481 Fausett Rd., Howell, with Military graveside services. The family will receive friends at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. The family will also receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Those desiring may make contributions in Bill's memory to St. Thomas Aquinas Parish School Scholarship Fund, 955 Alton Rd., East Lansing, MI 48823 or MSU School of Landscape and Architecture, c/o University Development, 300 Spartan Way, East Lansing, MI 48824.
