Robert J. "Bob" Pfauth

Passed away on April 21, 2015. Born in Elkhart, Indiana on October 25, 1930, Bob grew up on a farm near  Three Oaks, Michigan and graduated from Three Oaks High School in 1948. After attending Western Michigan University for two years, Bob enlisted in the United States Air force in 1950, mustering out as a Senior Airman in 1954. Bob moved to Battle Creek, Michigan where he worked his entire career at Rieth-Riley Construction Company, Inc., eventually becoming the manager of their Michigan Division, retiring in 1992. After retiring, Bob enjoyed the summers at his home in Rodney, Michigan, and winters at his home in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Bob was a former president of the Michigan Road Builders Association, as well as the Michigan Asphalt Paving Association. He was a longtime regional director of the National Asphalt Pavement Association, and a Past Exalted Ruler at the Elks Lodge #131, in Battle Creek. Bob loved flying, and was a licensed pilot. He also enjoyed bowling, gardening and woodworking.

He is preceded in death by his parents J.O. and Emma (Jensen) Pfauth, beloved wife Coyla Jean, and is survived by his children Bekki Becsey (John), Robert II (Kristin), David (Julie), Michael (Michelle), Mary Jo Loncaric (Dennis), and grandchildren, Joseph, Robert and Katherine Becsey; Dennis, Rebeka and Aiden Loncaric; Everest and Jensen Pfauth. 

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 5, 2015  at 11:00 am at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 815 Sparrow Ave., Lansing with Rev. Fr. Bill Lugger as Celebrant. The family will receive friends Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home Lansing Chapel, 520 E. Mt. Hope Ave from 4:00 - 8:00 pm with the rosary at 7:30 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Asphalt Pavement  Association of Michigan Scholarship Fund or Great Lakes Hospice. The family wishes to thank the staff at The Willows at East Lansing and Bickford of Okemos for all the years of loving care and are grateful for Great Lakes Hospice.
