Baxter, Elizabeth Delmore
Elizabeth "Betty" Baxter, 90, passed away peacefully at home in Sun City Center, FL, on Aug. 27. She was born and raised in Two Rivers, and was the daughter of the late Dr. A.V. and Katherine Delmore. Betty graduated from Washington High School, attended Rosary College in River Forest, IL, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. In 1948, she married Robert "Bob" Baxter of Hammond, IN, in a double wedding with her sister, Helen. She lived in Hammond and Munster, IN, until 1983, when she moved to Sarasota, FL, where she lived for 28 years.
Betty was a loving wife and mother, and was devoted to her mother with whom she spent the summer months in Two Rivers throughout the 1980s. She was an expert bridge player and competitive dancer, and traveled throughout the world.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Alice (John) Czerwonka of Parrish, FL; her grandsons, Christopher Czerwonka of Miami Beach, and Scott Czerwonka of Wilmington, DE; her great-granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth of Wilmington; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Baxter of Avertura, FL; nieces and nephews including Leah Delmore Mabrey of Two Rivers; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Richard R. Baxter, her brother, John "Jack" Delmore and her sister, Helen. Donations may be made in Betty's name to LifePath Hospice, 3725 Upper Creek Dr., Ruskin, FL 33573.
