MARYSVILLE: Reese William Todhunter, age 83, of Marysville died Friday, November 1, 2013, at Heartland of Marysville with his family at his side.
He was employed 25 years as a quality engineer with Goodyear Tire and Rubber. He was a faithful member of the Allen Center Baptist Church and was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force having served in the Korean Conflict. Reese was a member of Marysville BPOE Lodge #1130 and Marysville VFW Post #3320 and became the first All-State VFW Commander from Marysville in 1975. A sports fan and loyal Buckeye supporter, Reese enjoyed playing bingo, watching The Price is Right, and the music of The Statler Brothers. More than anything, he treasured the love of his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren
He was born July 10, 1930, in Lancaster to the late John M. and Goldie Botts Todhunter.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Vonda Kiger and Carolyn Johnson.
Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Dorothy Joan Milligan Davenport Todhunter, to whom he was married on August 23, 2002; six children, Debi (Ken) Shady-Dahl, Colona, IL; Denny (Sandy) Todhunter, Chico, CA; Gwen (Rick) Augenstein, Marysville; Pam (Doug) DeMoss, Monmouth, IA; Jonathan (Keshia) Todhunter, Marysville; and Matthew Todhunter, Marysville; ten grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a brother, John M. Todhunter, Columbus; sister, Marsella Lutz, Plymouth, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Oakdale Cemetery. Pastor Greg Kise will officiate and military honors will be provided by the Union County Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Union County Honor Guard in care of Mannasmith Funeral Home who is serving the family.
