SELZER, Katherine
It is with great sadness that the family of Katherine (Katie) Selzer announces the passing of their loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Katie passed away quietly on Monday, June 2, 2014 with her family at her side. Katie was born on December 13, 1921 at Stony Beach, SK, the eighth child of John and Ethel Sigmeth. Katie was predeceased by her husband and the love of her life, Louis in 2000; sisters Rose, Mary, and Theresa; brothers John, George, Rudy, Joe and Frank. Left to mourn her passing are her children Murray (Edith) Selzer, Karon Selzer, Myrna (Jim) Williams and Reg (Sharon) Selzer; seven special grandchildren Deanna (Les) Myers, Lyle Selzer, Tyler Williams, Troy Williams (Katie), Ryan (Marina) Selzer, Erin Selzer (Jason) and Mark Selzer; five treasured great-grandchildren Brandon and Andrew Myers, Hadley Selzer and Amelia and Blake Selzer; and two sisters Helen Priekschat and Irene (Fred) Schoenroth. Katie loved to spend time with her family and friends, sharing her wit and wisdom, which were evident to the end. The family wishes to thank the special staff at William Albert House for their care. Our appreciation also goes to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit for their support of Katie during her final battle with cancer. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Regina Palliative Care Inc., 4F - 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 1A5 or Screening Program for Breast Cancer, 204 – 3775 Pasqua Street, Regina, SK S4S 6W8.
