Phenix City, AL- Mr. Cortez V. Jackson, affectionately known as "Key", 28, of 2900 Stadium Drive, Phenix City, AL passed Friday, April 4, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. EST, Friday, April 11, 2014 at St. John A.M.E. Church, Ft. Mitchell, AL with Rev. Maurice Wright, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is today from 1 - 8 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Mr. Jackson was born October 1, 1985 in Columbus, GA to the late Michael Smith and the late Katie Ann Ford Jackson. He was a member of St. John A.M.E. Church, CEO of Southern Soilder Entertainment and was a volunteer firefighter with the Ladonia Fire Dept.
Survivors include his adoptive parents, Douglas Nickerson and Linda Nickerson both of Phenix City, AL; one brother, Earnest Jackson, Jr. of Columbus, GA; two sisters, Minister Erica Ford and Brinda Williams both of Columbus, GA; a very special friend, Amanda Hall of Phenix City, AL and a host of other relatives and friends.
