ATLANTA, GA- Donald Franklin Suits, long-time Atlanta businessman and founder of Falcon and Oxford Insurance, Inc., died peacefully on Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. At the time of his passing he was surrounded by family that included his wife of 46 years, Barbara Suits, his three children and their spouses, and his sister. Don Suits was born on February 22, 1938, in Mason City, Washington to the late Keener Franklin Suits and Eugenea Blackmon Suits. Upon graduation in finance from the University of Georgia, he worked with State Farm Insurance before founded his own insurance agency, Falcon Insurance. Over time he opened multiple insurance agencies under the name Oxford Insurance Inc. in the metro Atlanta area. Mr. Suits held many and varied interests, including a lifelong love of UGA football and an enjoyment of spending time with family on Lake Lanier. Mr. Suits was an active member of Northpoint Community Church and enjoyed greeting the families as they took their children to Waumba Land on Sunday mornings. His sense of humor kept everyone laughing. He was the type of person that someone would speak to for fifteen minutes and feel like they had known him a life time. To know him was to love him. His priorities in life was his relationship with Jesus Christ, being the best husband he could be, and being a loving father and grandfather. His eleven grandkids could not spend enough time with him. His leadership and love will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Barbara Suits ; three children, Donald (Donnie) F. SUITS, Jr. and wife Beth Filipek Suits, Monica Suits Quattlebaum and her husband Dennis Ray Quattlebaum, Jr. and Jeffrey Scott Suits and his wife Madalyn McGovern Suits, along with 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by sister Saundra Suits Jackson and her husband Wendell C. Jackson of Lilburn. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 24, at H.M. Patterson and Son Oglethorpe Hill Chapel from 11-12 p.m. and services at 12p.m. with Jeff Henderson, pastor of Gwinnett Church and Kris Ramsahai of Atlanta International Fellowship officiating.
Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs immediately following the services.
