Columbus, Georgia- Ms. Joycelyn Antoinette Sumbry, 51, of 1257 Schimek Drive, Columbus, passed Monday, September 2, 2013 at her home. Memorial services with military honors, followed by cremation will be held at 1PM Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Sconiers Funeral Home Chapel, 836 5th Avenue, Columbus, GA. Ms. Sumbry was born July 19, 1962 in Phenix City, AL the daughter of Andrew Sumbry, Sr. of Phenix City and Jacqeline Edmonds Martin of Columbus. She was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, was a 1980 graduate of Spencer High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. Joyce was so full of fun and laughter and will truly be missed by those who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, survivors include two sons, Jacque Maurice Sumbry and Jamoric Marquis Sumbry, both of Columbus; her step-mother, Gladys Sumbry of Phenix City, AL; 4 brothers, Christopher Sumbry and Albert Morris, both of Columbus, Andre (Renee) Sumbry of Montgomery, AL and Michael (Danielle) Morris of Pontiac, MI; five sisters, Lashon (Robert) Ford of Phenix City, AL, Ondrea (Warren) Smith of Phenix City and Crystal Gail (MIchael) Williams, both of Columbus; Lillian (Lorenzo) Fowlkes of Auburn Hills, MI and Jessica Morris of Columbus; three grandchildren, Darian Scott, Jaslyn Jordan and Jovaria Rakestraw; her God-son, Jovar Rakestraw of Columbus and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
