Salem, AL- Karen Christian Turner, 57 of Salem, AL passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Columbus Medical Center surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm EST Friday, April 12, 2013 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N/280W Phenix City, AL with Rev. Grant Parker officiating. A private interment will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00pm until 1:00pm EST at the funeral home.
Mrs. Turner was born April 24, 1955 in Columbus, Georgia. She is the daughter of the late Charles Ralph Christian, Jr. and Helen Quinn Christian. She was a retired school teacher after 33 years of service with the Cherokee County, Georgia School System and was baptist by faith. Other than her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Turner. Survivors include her mother, Helen Quinn Christian of Salem, AL, son, Randy Wade Turner and wife Amiee of Cartersville, GA, daughter, Hallie Virginia Turner of Salem, AL, brother, William R. Christian, aunt, Margaret Stone, grandchildren, Eli Jacobson, Paisley Turner, Elyvia Turner, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many close and loving friends that she loved very much.
