Phenix City, AL- Martha T. Skinner, of Phenix City, AL, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, in Atlanta, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm EST, on Thursday, January 16, 2013, at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City, with Reverend Tommy Carstens officiating. Interment will follow at Crawford Cemetery and the family will receive friends 1 hour before the service at the funeral home.
Martha was born on December 30, 1928, in Opelika, AL, the daughter of the late Yancey Peyton Thomas and Kate Elizabeth Dudley Thomas. She worked as an Executive Assistant for the Civil Service and led an active lifestyle. Martha enjoyed ballroom dancing, teaching ballroom dance and had a close relationship with the Lord. She was a member of Faith Outreach Church.
Other than her parents she is preceded in death by a son, Lanney Bradford Stillwell and a brother, Walter P. Thomas.
She is survived by three sons, Alton Stillwell, Mark Stillwell and Floyd R. Boswell, Jr.; sister, Mary Hughes of Panama City, FL; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; much extended family and many caring friends.
