Roberta Pemberton Auld
FLORIDA - Roberta Pemberton Auld, born in 1921 to Irvin and Mary Pemberton in Lincoln, succumbed to respiratory failure December 13, 2012 at St. Mark's Village in Palm Harbor, FL. A Florida resident since 1976, Roberta was retired from Suncoast Hospital in Largo.
She is survived by her sister, Margaret McKinney of Columbia, MO; a son, Dr. Benjamin Geoffrey Harrison of Remer, MN; and her daughter, Anne Pemberton Auld of New Rochelle, NY. Grandson Benjamin Geoffrey Harrison Jr. and great-granddaughters Ella and Davren reside in Ocean Springs, MS; grandson Blake Harrison and great grandchildren Grant and Lindsey reside in Covington, LA. Roberta is preceded in death by her husband, William Conn Auld and son, Andrew Harrison Auld.
Roberta grew up in Lincoln, attended First Presbyterian Church, became Lincoln Community High School valedictorian, and was a reporter at one time for the Lincoln Daily Courier, residing at 223 Pekin St. for many years. An early marriage to Ben Rowe Harrison ended in divorce. She was a lifelong reader of The New Yorker who loved the arts and supported conservation. Donations may be made in her memory to the National Parkinson Foundation.
