Ronald Ray Booth
MARION - Ronald Ray Booth, 77, passed away in the early morning on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at his home in Marion, Ill.
Ronald was born Feb. 12, 1936, in Chicago, Ill., son of John Vivian and Alma Marie Crumpler Booth. He was united in marriage to Barbara Holan on Dec. 6, 1958, in Chicago.
He is survived by his wife of Marion, Ill.; his daughter, Janice Marie Johnson of Birch Tree, Mo.; son, Lawrence "Larry" (Kelly) Martin of Middletown; grandchildren: Shereen (Craig) Pettit, Dawnna Nicole (Nathan) Patterson and Alexander Michael (Lindsay) Booth; and great-grandson, Jonathon Pettit. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, James Dennis and John Samuel Booth.
Ronald was a graduate of Lincoln High School. He taught high school sciences, was employed by the Illinois Association of School Boards for a number of years, served on the school board of Glendale Heights, and worked the last 30 years as a labor negotiator for the school districts of Illinois.
Ronald was an avid sports fan and he was a lover of all kinds of animals.
Graveside services for Ronald will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at Richmond Grove Cemetery in New Holland. A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 20 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
