Carideo, Anthony F.

Anthony F. Carideo, 87, of 40 Hickory Road, Katonah, NY, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Veterans Hospital in Bath, NY. Born in Mt. Vernon, NY, he was the son of the late Cosimo and Angelina (Zuzolo) Carideo. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army. Tony married Ines Comin June 30, 1956. She survives him.

Tony was a teacher, employed by Bedford Central School District for over 30 years. He was an active member of the Boys Club of Mount Vernon. He fulfilled his enjoyment for athletics through his coaching career, his passion for watching the Yankees and his grandchildren play many sports. Tony was a natural handy-man.

Surviving besides his wife are two daughters: Antonia (Luke) Woody of Montgomery, NY, Irene (Kevin) Furness of Campbell, NY; triplet grandchildren: Olivia, Kevin and Ryan Furness. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Carpenters Funeral Home LLC, 14 E. Pulteney St. in Corning on Wednesday, January 15th from 4:00 to 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 16th at 9:30am at Immaculate Heart Church, Painted Post, NY. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Corning.
