Charles Augustus Morrow, Jr. , known to many as "Bud", passed away January 13, 2014. Born August 18th, 1924 in Warren, OH, he was in the class of 1943 at The Lawrenceville School in Princeton, NJ and graduated from the University of Notre Dame. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World World II and began his career as a salesman at Youngstown Kitchens in White Plains, NY. In 1950, he married the love of his life, Barbara Sommers from Maplewood, NJ and together they raised four daughters. In 1970, he moved the family to Delray Beach, FL where he founded Palm Beach Custom Kitchens. In 1996, they retired to Big Canoe, GA. After losing his beautiful wife "Babs" to ovarian cancer, he moved to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL in 2004. Bud, more than anything, enjoyed spending time with his family and loved living in Ponte Vedra Beach. He was a terrific golfer, member of Sawgrass Country Club and an avid sportsman. Bud was a true gentleman, a respected businessman with a contagious smile and an endearing spirit, who left a mark on everyone he met. Bud is survived by his daughters Merry Morrow of Atlanta, GA, Amanda (Mandy) Morrow of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Melissa Morrow Knott of Atlanta, GA, her daughter, and his granddaughter, Megan Elisabeth Knott of Delray Beach, FL, Michele Morrow Bruner, her husband Mark Bruner of Orlando, FL, and his step grandchildren, Ryan and Chad Bruner and step great grandchild, Riley Bruner.
In memory of our father for his deep love for our mother, it was his request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund: 14 Penn Plaza Suite 1710, NY, NY 10122 or visit: http://ocrf.kintera.org/wallofhope/budmorrow.
