Talone, Daniel Joseph

Daniel Joseph Talone, a resident of Yonkers, died on October 15, 2013. He was 85. Daniel was born in Yonkers on August 10, 1928 to Joseph and Mary Talone. He graduated from Saunders High School in 1947 and briefly attended New York University. He worked at his father's cabinet shop where he became a carpenter and a cabinet maker. He entered the Army Reserves in 1950 with the 332nd Aviation Engineer Battalion from Yonkers. He officially entered the Army in 1951. While in the service, Daniel attended school at Fort Belvoir, VA and became a soils engineer. Upon his discharge as a staff sergeant from the Army, Daniel worked in Bermuda and the Azores. Daniel eventually returned to Yonkers and began working in construction. He later joined the City of Yonkers as a construction inspector for their Engineering Department. He was also a construction representative for the NY State Urban Development Corporation. He joined the Assessor's Office as Assistant City Assessor with the City of Yonkers and retired in 1992. In 1993, Daniel started his own company, Real Property Tax Consultants which just recently celebrated its 20th year in business. He was an active member of the Men's Glee Club of Yonkers, the Mount Carmel Men's Club, and sang in the Mt. Carmel Church choir. On July 14, 1963, Daniel married Anne Chiascione at St. Anthony's Church in Yonkers and subsequently renewed their vows 50 years later on July 14, 2013 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Daniel is survived by his wife, Anne, and his four children: Maria (Michael) Paulercio, Daniella (Raymond) Fennell, Annie, and Joseph (Danielle), and his five grand-children: Alexa, Raymond, Daniel, Michael, and Emma. He is also survived by his sister Gloria Talone, and many nieces, and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his sisters Anne Raffa, Frances Moccia, and Rita D'Ambrosio.

Friends may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers on Thursday from 7-9PM and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Funeral mass Saturday 10AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Yonkers. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 70 Park Hill Ave, Yonkers, NY 10701.
