Dennis "Red" Dunstan Sr.a lifelong resident of Ossining passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013. Dennis was born in Ossining on July 7, 1926 and was the son of Harry and Catherine (Boyle) Dunstan. He was 86 years old.
Dennis graduated from Ossining High School in 1945. He was a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Ossining. Dennis served in the United States Army as a member of the 25th Infantry In the Korean War. After the War he began working at General Motors in North Tarrytown until he retired in 1993. He would also Chauffer and do painting on the side. He loved gardening, making things in his workshop and working around the house. He also loved to play cards, go fishing and do word search puzzles. During World War 2, he began helping out at Cataract Hose. He loved the Fire Department, going on calls and marching in the parades (just not making the coffee). Dennis was a lifetime member of Cataract Hose for 67 years and was the second oldest living Fireman in Ossining.
Dennis was predeceased by his beloved wife Josephine (Fasulo) and is survived by his two sons; Dennis Jr. (Dawn) of Somers and Thomas (Rose) of Ossining. Dennis was also the loving Grandfather of 7 Grandchildren; Jon, Jordyn, Nicholas, Robert, Steven, Joseph and Katlyn and loving Uncle of and many nieces and nephews. Dennis is survived by his sister Shirley See ( Howard) and was predeceased by his brothers; Donald (Jean), Harry (Dolly) and sisters Ruth Winter (Teddy) and Mary Camp (George).
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 17th, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at St. Ann's Church, 25 Eastern Ave. Ossining NY 10562. Interment following at St. Augustine's Cemetery in Ossining.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Ann's Church, 25 Eastern Ave. Ossining NY 10562 would be appreciated.
