Fass, Harry W.

Harry W. Fass of Nanuet, NY passed away on January 18, 2013 at the age of 81. He was born in Queens, NY on August 18, 1931 to Henry Fass and Louise (Overton). He worked as an art director of Motion Picture Magazine, and then was a graphic art director for Columbia Records in New York City for over 20 years before retiring to spend time portrait painting.

He is survived by his loving wife Sheila (Fitzpatrick), daughters Catherine (James) Brinkman and Jennifer (Michael) Chapman, brother Thomas and grandchildren Kristen, Kenneth, Caitlin, Erin and Lauren. He is predeceased by his sister Alice Fass Bremmer. Harry was an accomplished artist and has 4 portraits in the Rockland County Court House. He was also an honorary member of the Air Force Reserve and his art work hangs in the Pentagon and his Apollo-Soyuz artwork travels throughout the United States. He was a member of the Rockland County Center for the Arts. Harry was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather whose greatest joy came from his grandchildren. He was a Nanuet resident for over 30 years, previously living in Jamaica, Queens. He proudly served his country in the US Army and was awarded the Purple Heart during the Korean War.

Family will receive visitors on Monday from 6-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc. Service will be on Tuesday at 11am at the funeral home. Private cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the , PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090.
